Pretoria Girls High Learners Suspended for Racism

Twelves learners from the Pretoria Girls High suspended pending displinary hearing because of racism. It is alleged that the girls involved had a WhatsApp group consisting of whites only were they shared racial micro-aggressions .

The Gauteng Education Department has suspended the principal of the Pretoria Girls High amid fresh allegations of racism in the school.

Matome Chiloane, Gauteng Education MEC visited the school on Tuesday afternoon amid the racism reported.

MEC Matome Chilone said the suspension of the principal at the Pretoria Girls High, Phillipa Erasmus will be for three months pending the outcome of the investigation of the racism allegations.

Erasmus was appointed in 2018 after the previous incidents of racism in the school.

The EFF ( Economic Freedom Fighter) and the ANC ( African National Congress) have visited the school and are leading separate demonstrations at the school’s entrance with the EFF carrying posters with words ” Racism has no place at the Pretoria High for Girls”.

In addition to that there is a heavy police presence at the school and the school has also acquired the services of a private security.
